2025 Champion

Stewart Cink

Stewart Cink birdied the first playoff hole to win the 2025 Insperity Invitational for his second win on the PGA TOUR Champions. With seven players tied at the top of the leaderboard midway through the final nine holes, Cink along with 36-hole co-leader and World Golf Hall of Fame member Retief Goosen – were the only two left standing, deadlocked at -11. Cink birdied the par-4, 17th hole to set up a head-to-head playoff duel. The two PGA TOUR major winners headed back to the 18th tee to settle the tie. With both tee shots sitting in the middle of the fairway, Goosen dropped his second shot into the pond surrounding the right side of the 18th hole, while Cink stuck his approach shot to eight feet and knocked in the birdie putt for the win. The triumph in Texas made Cink the ninth player in the history of the Insperity Invitational to win in his first appearance at the tournament. It was the fourth time in the event’s 21-year history that a winner was decided by a playoff.

2024 Champion

Scott Dunlap

Mother Nature may have stolen the show, but Scott Dunlap was the eventual winner of the 2024 Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare. With Sunday’s final round canceled due to continued inclement weather, Scott Dunlap was declared the winner of the 2024 Insperity Invitational after producing scores of 65-70—135 (-9) on Saturday. Dunlap awoke on Sunday ready to play, but Mother Nature had other ideas. He never had to hit a single shot. Leading after 36 holes which were all played on Saturday, Dunlap was declared the official champion on a soggy Sunday morning when bad weather once again affected the greater Houston area, wiping out the final round. Dunlap’s 36-hole total of 9-under 135 was one shot better than the twosome of Joe Durant and Stuart Appleby, who shot 67 on Saturday afternoon. Steven Alker (68-69), who was gunning for his third-straight Insperity Invitational title fell two shots shy tied in fourth with Thongchai Jaidee (66-71).

2023 Champion

Steven Alker

Steven Alker successfully defended his Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare title, but the real story is that he won with his former caddie’s family and friends decked out in Houston Astros jerseys rooting him on alongside the ropes. Alker’s caddie, Sam Workman, died from cancer in February at his Texas-based home. With PGA TOUR Champions players sporting ribbons with the Houston Astros logo – Workman’s favorite baseball team – dozens of Workman’s family and friends created a sea of orange in the gallery on Sunday at the The Woodlands Country Club Tournament course wearing Astros jerseys. The support was a difference maker in spurring Alker to back-to-back victories. With his son Ben caddying for the first time, Alker separated himself from the field by four shots. After tapping in to secure the title on 18, Alker pointed to the sky to acknowledge his friend who helped the Alker duo in spirit fire rounds of 66-69-66, capping off an emotional, yet memorable, Insperity Invitational.

2022 Champion

Steven Alker

Mother Nature couldn’t slow Steven Alker down in 2022. The Kiwi returned to The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course from a two-hour Sunday rain delay by playing a six-hole stretch in 6-under par on the back nine to outduel Steve Stricker and win the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare on Sunday for his second of three victories on the PGA TOUR Champions in 2022. Alker cranked up the Texas heat by rattling off three straight birdies (No. 11, 12, 13) and all but closed out the tournament and Stricker’s hopes of winning in southern Texas by making an eagle on the par-5, 15th to build a four-shot lead. Alker closed out his final round with a 6-under 66 for a final score of 18-under-par over the three days of play.

2021 Champion

Mike Weir

The sun finally came out to shine a spotlight on Canada’s Mike Weir in the winner’s circle of a rain-shortened event in 2021. The 2003 Masters champion earned his first PGA TOUR Champions victory by two strokes at the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare following an epic dual down the finishing stretch with John Daly. Exchanging birdies on the final nine holes, Weir and Daly were tied heading to the 18th tee box on Sunday. Playing in the group ahead of Weir, Daly’s approach shot found the water on the final hole that led to a double bogey for a 69 and second place. Weir started the final round in third place, one stroke behind the leaders. The lefty fired five birdies and eagled the par-5 13th hole en route to a final-round 68, becoming just the fourth Canadian ever to win on the PGA TOUR Champions. The 2021 event was reduced to 36 holes because of heavy rain earlier in the weekend.

2019 Champion

Scott McCarron

Eventual champion Scott McCarron held a three-stroke lead heading into Sunday, but it got a little dicey on the inward nine under lift-clean-and-place conditions. Scott Parel had back-to-back birdies on Holes 11 and 12 to even the score with McCarron at 14-under-par. However, McCarron responded with birdies on three of the next four holes to re-take the lead. Parel did have a chance to pull within one but missed a six-foot birdie putt on 17. McCarron’s 17-under 199 score was good enough for a two-stroke victory and tied Fred Couples for the Insperity Invitational 54-hole record. For McCarron it marked the second win of the season and extended his streak to four straight years with multiple victories. He also became the 38th player with at least ten wins on the PGA TOUR Champions, joining players like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Al Geiberger and Tom Kite.

2018 Champion

Bernhard Langer

Bernhard Langer saved par on the 54th hole to secure a wire-to-wire victory by one shot over Paul Goydos, Jeff Maggert and Bart Bryant and earn his fourth win at the Insperity Invitational. With his 37th PGA TOUR Champions career victory, Langer became just the third player to win the same tournament four times or more in the history of the age 50-and-over Tour, joining Hale Irwin and Jack Nicklaus. Langer held a one-stroke lead through 36 holes, but slipped to 2-over par through his first eight holes on Sunday and fell three shots off the lead. However, he played the last ten holes bogey-free and added birdies on Holes 9, 10, 13 and 15 for his 11-under total. He started the week with a 63 and followed with a 72-70.

2017 Champion

John Daly

Taking a one-stroke lead into the final round on Sunday, John Daly was able to separate himself even more with a front-nine 33 and a birdie on the 13th hole to extend his lead to three strokes. Despite a bumpy ride over the final three holes that included three bogeys, the two-time major championship winner was able to hold on for a one-stroke victory over Tommy Armour III and Kenny Perry, who both hit a few bumps of their own down the stretch. Daly became the third consecutive first-time Champions Tour winner at the Insperity Invitational, joining Ian Woosnam and Jesper Parnevik. He finished at 14-under-par, the lowest winning score since Fred Funk in 2012 with rounds of 68-65-69.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Jesper Parnevik won the Insperity Invitational for his first PGA TOUR Champions victory, shooting a 5-under 67 for a four-stroke victory Sunday. The 51-year-old Swede won in his 23rd career start on the PGA TOUR Champions. The five-time PGA TOUR winner finished at 12-under 204 at The Woodlands Country Club.

2015 Champion

Ian Woosnam

Despite an aching back, former European Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam survived 54 holes plus an extra to win his first Champions Tour title at the 2015 Insperity Invitational, defeating Tom Lehman and Kenny Perry on the first hole of a playoff. Woosnam’s 30-foot birdie putt on the first extra hole did the trick and marked the third time in Insperity Invitational history a playoff was needed to decide a champion. Woosnam also became the fourth player to make the Insperity Invitational his first Champions Tour victory, joining Bernhard Langer (2007), Brad Faxon (2011) and Esteban Toledo (2013). Woosnam’s closing 68 was one of only three bogey-free rounds on Sunday and his 11-under-par 205 total marked the second consecutive year that 11-under-par proved to be the winning score. Bernhard Langer’s 2014 victory was with a 205 score as well.

Despite a lack of birdies and a hard-charging Fred Couples, Bernhard Langer won the 2014 Insperity Invitational by one stroke on a beautiful Sunday Afternoon. Langer became the first three-time winner of the Insperity Invitational and, for the first time in his Champion Tour career, he won the same tournament three times. His victory in the spring also helped Langer become the 10th player in Champions Tour history to accumulate 20 wins or more in his career and moved him into the top-10 on the all-time Champions Tour victory list.

2013 Champion

Esteban Toledo

Esteban Toledo celebrated Cinco de Mayo by becoming the first Mexican winner in Champions Tour history, beating Mike Goodes with a par on the third hole of a playoff Sunday in the Insperity Championship. The 50-year-old Toledo, making his ninth start on the 50-and-over tour, eagled the opening hole and finished with a 5-under 67 to match Goodes and Gene Sauers at 6-under 210 at The Woodlands Country Club. Toledo gave a lot of credit to caddie Larry Dittman. Goodes shot a 72, and Sauers — eliminated on the second playoff hole with a double bogey — had a 74.

2012 Champion

Fred Funk

Funk birdied four of the final five holes, including a 2-foot birdie putt on the 54th hole to finish 14-under-par 202. Funk secured what turned out to be the winning moment when he hit a 5-iron on the 18th hole for the 2-foot birdie opportunity.

2011 Champion

Faxon, an eight-time winner on the PGA TOUR who turned 50 on Aug. 1, shot a 7-under 65 in windy conditions Saturday to take a one-stroke lead at 10-under at The Woodlands Country Club. Tommy Armour III was second, and Eduardo Romero finished two strokes back. Jay Haas, Olin Browne and Schwab Cup points leader Tom Lehman (70) followed at 7 under, and winner in 2010 Fred Couples was 4 under. Faxon won his first title on the 50-and-over circuit in his sixth start.

Fred Couples shook off a double bogey on the front nine (No. 8) by playing the back nine 7-under-par 29 to steamroll past a faltering Corey Pavin for the Administaff Small Business Classic title. Couples’ final-round 9-under 63 was the lowest round since the event moved to the Tournament Course at The Woodlands Country Club in 2008.

2009 Champion

John Cook

Took the lead for the first time on the par-3 14th hole. Was neck in neck down the stretch with Jay Haas who was bidding for his third win in a row. Cook seized the lead for good with a 12-foot birdie putt at the 17th and was able to hang on and claim victory by 2 strokes over Jay Haas and Bob Tway.

2008 Champion

Bernhard Langer

Successfully defended his title when he prevailed by two strokes over Lonnie Nielsen. Made birdies in Nos. 11, 13 and 14 to take the lead, and the former Masters champions never looked back.

2007 Champion

In route to winning his first Champions Tour event, Bernhard Langer set a new Augusta Pines course record of 10-under 62. Winning wire to wire, Langer’s 54-hole total of 25–under par 191 matched the Champions Tour all-time scoring record.

2006 Champion

Jay Haas

Jay Haas broke the Augusta Pines course record in route to winning the rain soaked event. He took a five-stroke lead into the final round after shooting a 9-under 63 in Saturday’s record-setting second round. Haas was 17-under par after five holes when officials stopped play. He won with a 36-hole score total of 128.

2005 Champion

Mark McNulty

66-68-66=200

Mark McNulty birdied two of the last three holes and also had two eagles in the final round for a one-stroke victory over Gil Morgan in the Administaff Small Business Classic. McNulty took the lead with a birdie on No. 1 and two-putted from 43 feet for another birdie not he final hole to finish 16-under 200 total for the win.

2004 Champion

Larry Nelson

68-70-64=202

Larry Nelson rallied form far off the lead and made a 5-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Hale Irwin and win the Administaff Small Business Classic on Sunday. Nelson, who started the final round seven shots back, closed with an 8-under 64 and tied Irwin (67) at 14-under 202, winning his second Champions Tour event of the year and 19th overall.
